Project description
Maritime vessels play an integral role in the way we trade with foreign countries and the ability for our Navy to effectively defend our country. It is crucial that these vessels travel in the most efficient manner possible, for even a matter of seconds can mean success or failure. Having the most hydrodynamic materials for said vessels can make a major difference in both speed and maneuverability. Not only should these materials be the most hydrodynamic, but they should also be cost-effective and durable so that it can be easily created and will last in the rough conditions of the sea. Our project targets this issue by using the SimScale GmbH Fluid Dynamics Software to simulate hydrodynamic flow on different materials to deduce the least drag.
